About the Conference
The Society of American Archivists Student Chapter at the University of Texas presents Critical Archival Practice: a conference to evaluate the archival profession's core values surrounding diversity, social responsibility, and advocacy. Panels and discussions will seek to facilitate further dialogue about the present and future roles of archivists in society, and will also explore ways to empower and nurture critically engaged members of the profession.
The conference will feature a keynote address by Dr. Michelle Caswell, Assistant Professor of Archival Studies in the Department of Information Studies at UCLA.
Panels will include Grassroots and Community Archives, Diversity and Pluralism in the Archival Profession, and Challenging Archival Education. Please see the schedule page for full descriptions and our panelist page for participants.
